Thrillseeker

Facebook status updates
For those close to the sea
On days when winds are blowing
From a strong south-westerly

“High tide at almost seven metres
Today – twelve thirty-four”
Means I have no option but
Go to the beach once more

The waves there were tumultuous
And the salt-spray in my face
Served a trite reminder
Of the thrill that serves this place

I am so privileged to live here
Today especially
As there really isn’t anywhere
As thrilling as the sea
