Mind Within Mind

in misty dark
shadows of mind
waves of tide count
bobbing up and down
measuring heights reached
and the depths fallen

thoughts applied
to the tumultuous times
pondering on gain amidst loss
juxtapose pleasure with pain

yet on the other side
wrapped in a song of breeze
from the immeasurable ocean
lives a self, one with nature

never wanting
to rationalise
to measure
to count
to seize

the present
