Democratic Mind

when every emotion
made democratic
in parliament of mind

equal in rights
equal in freedom
equal in opportunity
free to express
free to live
free to protest

where none are favoured
over the other
where none are corrupted
by seeking votes of senses

standing upright
by jury of fine judgment
by principles of nature

where equality reigns supreme
protected by army of presence

the emotions recede to their
original positions
in rank, muted, watching in silence
the march of peace
in service of the nation

the one and only
the soul
