Shine Of Heaven

by Venkat

in my daily garden
from dawn to dusk
comes a soft shine
glistening the apples
out from their shells
blushing behind leaves

in a fit of energy
I shoot them
to reach a sky
for a taste of distant pleasure
dreaming into the velvet night

tomorrow, come new apples
some brighter, some crispier
a shade deeper, sweeter
swept but, by winds of time

I lie lost, deep in sleep
aware not

a slumber always too sweet
a shine of heaven, ever unfelt
