Coming Back

by Emily Page

Go now, be happy
Live your life to the full.
Don’t give ‘us’ a backward glance.
Don’t let my presence pull.

I’ll be alright now
I know how to be strong.
You won’t see me hurting.
To show you would be wrong.

I know that you loved me
I saw it in your eyes.
To love you too & keep you
Would be my heart’s own prize.

‘If you love him, let him go’, they say
But they cannot feel my pain.
Should you come back though, loving you
Will not have been in vain.
