The Outward Movement

by Venkat

books have faded into distance
in every human, a book to read

papers have lost their meaning
in every heart, a paper to write

thoughts, no longer a personal treasure
in every mind open, a self to think

  1. To read is to enter into someone else’s story, see the world through their eyes, feel life through their pulses . . . In a self-referential world we are far too busy listening to our own voices to bother to listen to others . . .
