An Evening By A Lantern

by Venkat

Poetry challenge: Lanturne poem.

lantern

light
lantern
dark roses
expectation
warm
~~~~
love
music
river side
a moonlit breeze
smiles
~~~~
eyes
flashed up
glittering
into my eyes
deep
~~~~
hand
held firm
on my soul
shook my world
tight
~~~~
lips
quivered
of fine tinge
desires, passion
felt
~~~~
mute
by fear
a presence
overbearing
strange
~~~~
time
crumpled
dreams of love
pictures too sweet
sour
~~~~
I
recoiled
embarassed
by self-esteem
low
~~~~
gaze
she gave
etched on mind
memorable
hard
~~~~
dark
starlight
silent walk
a lonely song
home
~~~~
