Ordinarily Upset

Fashion

designs to distract

coveted fabrics delight the eyes

no sooner are the wise

feeling the impact

of the driving forces that wrap

our lives deceptive

in a cosmetic cacophony

(just like the word)

of frills, festive style

…and all they do is watch

and wonder why

and wish this could go away

so their lives might sail

upon the silvery sweet sessions

simple and yet auspicious

colors and fabrics and linens

all represent one another

walking gaily in front of

everyone that cares,

even those that we think might

but seem to catch our eye

when we reach down

to brush the scuffs away.
