Surviving Childhood (didactic challenge)

Now please do understand

Whilst surviving childhood

Life creates simple demand

That initial instant moment

In daddy’s delightful eyes

When mother’s hopes lament

Is this beautiful child alright

Are we bringing her home

Is he, yes he is adorable, right?

Then bumps and roadblocks arrive

That first moment when a cry goes on

We imagine we will not, well, survive

Unless Johnny Handsome lad asks us to prom

Or Jenny Lovely lass gives me the time

To recognize I exist, oh heartache … mom?

Well now, it is light outside in the lawn

The leaves have been raked in piles

Children did play, so darling, we wait a new dawn
