In Absence

by Venkat

In glaze of golden dust
As sun rays streak

In skies of moonlight
As shadows glow

In edges of universe
As stars are born

In sands of dry earth
As they slip in hand

In droplets of mist
As winter falls upon

As I let you sink in
Through my heart
I see you all around

Life, not to meet ends
Or a persistent chase

Life, made to open up
Of a porous membrane
To let love through

As I realise you remain
In being absent, the same
