My fishing trip, Sonnet.

by Harry

Poetry challenge: Sonnet poem.

Out for the day on a trip

my idea was to catch a fish

on the line i had a good grip

i wanted to cook my wife a dish

sitting on the bank i had a nip

my catch was a lot of archer-fish

but the rest ended in the skip

because they tasted so blandish

will have to find another river

one which i can start using

hoping that maybe it will deliver

and i’ll see my fishing improving

or i’ll just start eating chicken liver

now wouldn’t that be amusing

Inspired by Peters fishing poems.
