Silence.

by Harry

The silence is deafening

in the dim half light

whispers from a corner

a click here, a hiss there

is all that can be heard

silent figures move around

saying nothing as they move

going about their business

saving their charges

life depends upon them

their skills and care

silent angels

are the

intensive care nurse’s

  1. Deafening silence! I love that!

  2. Wow! I really love the way it ends; “Silent angels are the intensive care nurse’s”.
There really are things we take for granted sometimes. You have done well to point out the value of nurses, explicitly and interestingly.
    Good job!

  3. Reblogged this on stgreenie and commented:
    Truth in poetry

  4. It takes a very special person to be in those shoes every day. So true, Harry

  5. They certainly are amazing people Harry. Great tribute.

  6. I was trying to guess as I went along the poem.. so very fitting. Having been in ICU last year (and in and out of the hospital a lot for the last two), I have an unwavering appreciation for these very special people that give their lives in the duty of ever giving. What a beautiful tribute.
I hope that what inspired this is not someone unwell, Harry. If so, you will have my prayers.

    • Sorry Harry, I had just wanted to comment not seeing the other comments first. I just read above.. my goodness, what you have been through. May your heart be comforted and may peace fill your heart.

      • Thank you kindly Easter, i would skip comments as well some times 🙂

      • You are welcome.. I usually don’t read comments when reading a post to not influence my own thoughts (most of the time, anyhow).
What a lovely commemoration to the wonderful people that shared in your family’s most difficult times.
        Easter

  8. a silent whisper can tear your soul apart.. or it can mend it..forever..silence has a power unimaginable.. Harry – may the silent prayers reach you…everyday..midst the chaos..

  9. beautiful… in those moments of in between, the space between, where silence render the thoughts of angels, the hushings of God. Very nice.
