If this was to be your last day on earth
And you could send out only one message
Would those special to you know you cared.

It could seem such a rhetorical question
And yet it could be a surprise to others
If this was to be your last day on earth.

As we go about our day without concern
We don’t always take time to communicate
Would those special to you know you cared.

How many times have we seen others in pain
Wondering if there were things left unsaid
If this was to be your last day on earth.

Too easy it is to minimize the possibility
After all, it only happens to someone else
Would those special to you know you cared.

Don’t wait and get caught with the questions
Let those around you know how you feel
If this was to be your last day on earth
Would those special to you know you cared.
