Life of Deep Waters

by Venkat

Life of deep waters
A game of fishing
With no intention
To catch fishes

Yet to just watch
The rousing action
Presented by a net
In otherwise quiet waters

To observe the fish
Which give up
Which escape
Or the ambivalent

In striking colors
Giving rays of delight
To the inner mind
Yet concern on the fate

Coral trout
Fairy basslet
Catalina goby
Lined fairy wrasse

Those that are big
Those too small
Those swift
Those who fight

Life, a game of fishing
Uncovered by an act
Of throwing the net
Forever with one intention
To put it again and again
