Dreaming of Spring

by dianarasmussen

To commemorate the first day of Spring:  I was looking through my journal and I wrote this one Feb 1st. I’m in the Midwest and this was our worst winter in a very long time – too funny!

I am dreaming of Spring
But buried in snowbanks
Longing for flowers frankly
and the scents that they bring

The trees may be dormant
Yet acorns are coming
A New Season is rising
Despite what I can see

Resurrection power
Is buried in a tomb
Just three days for this blooming
stone to be rolled away!

  1. I have a special place in my heart for the seasons and look forward to each change. Spring, however, is special, probably because it is a time of renewal, We all relate to that in one way or another. Thanks for a lovely poem.

  2. Thank you Seeker. I will definitely look into your link- What an opportunity, thank you so much! Diana
