The paths that we walk crossed
If only for this moment in time
We reached out to be friends
Now the same path we both climb.
This path may not always be easy
So many personalities to pass by
Yet friendship can be a protection
Even if sometimes we still ask Why.
We walk along this path at our pace
At times close, at times further away
The choices we make keep us together
Differences can also cause us to stray.
Thank You can be such a simple phrase
But I offer those heartfelt words to you
For friends can help us to feel we’re alive
Helping us another day to get through.
