Sicilian Septet: Our Life Divine

by Venkat

Our Life divine, as great as a single cell
Separated from world by a thin membrane
To let nourishment come, yet toxics to expel
Withhold energy enough not to drain
Make delicate balance, an iconic spell
An armor to the self, yet by unique porosity gain
A magical, universal nature, difficult to tell

In iambic pentameter
