A Quiet Idle Brain

by Venkat

A quiet idle brain
Deep in my head
Leaves in me a stain
A meaning unread

A quiet idle brain
Gaping at people to see
On border of pleasure, pain
A true portion within me

A quiet idle brain
Doodling an emptiness
Thinking, a real strain
Too cold by woolliness

A quiet idle brain
Trapped in wars of silence
From speech, a refrain
Fantasies to lose confidence

A quiet idle brain
Unable to act or exert
Imagination’s restrain
Leaving me passive, inert

A quiet idle brain
Without focus, hard of hearing
Letting energy drain
An absent mind overbearing

A quiet idle brain
Leading a life, stone dead
Incapable to sustain
To move further, I dread
