Blessed night

Christmas poem: Challenge.

what child is this
on Christmas night,
birthed beneath
the northern lights.

a barren start
to this stark world,
a cry went out
as magic swirled.

a cosmic change
this hand of fate,
the kings and wisemen
who all await.

the past undone
the future’s set,
a love untold
no one forgets.

blessed be
those that come,
to give their thanks
his will be done.

as on this night
for centuries told,
one tiny birth
our christ behold.

to give us this day
our daily bread,
who gave up life
that we live instead.

my soul is saved
upon this night,
my savior born
on christmas this blessed night…
