She looks in the mirror
cracked glass everywhere
she sees the shadows
tear-stained eyes hollow
where did she go
a long time ago?
feels like a criminal
who’s just invisible
Then she smells cologne
realizes she’s not alone
There’s a heavenly fragrance
she senses the presence
of an Angel in her room
she hears “Do not fear
you’re not alone here
the best is yet to be”
She puts on her mask
to cover and cloak
life’s shattered pieces
the world oblivious
She’s weary of miserable
is life even fixable?
is she forgivable?
is love conditional?
But she smells cologne
realizes she’s not alone
There’s a heavenly fragrance
she senses the presence
of an Angel in her room
she hears “Do not fear
you’re not alone here
the best is yet to be”
