Too Late to Hold you

by Lena Bitare

A Poem by: Maria Elena Bitare

I would lose all the bucks that I have
All the make-up I use to cover up
But you’re too far to reach,
Too strong to win.

I would lose all the time I left
Just to be still in your arms
But you’re too stiff to ruin
Too late to forgive.

Nothing left to argue about
Nothing left to compromise
From the beginning, we ruined the start
Now it’s the end of our loving hearts.
