That little girl I know (Poetry challenge: ABC Poem)

by Apurva

Alone,

By herself,

Cheerful and gay,

Doing what she loves,

Ever inspired, as some say,

Fine pieces of art,

Great lines of verse,

Happen to come knocking,

In a second, I’ve heard,

Just how does she do it?

Kills me so,

 Let me find out today,

 Maybe then you’ll know.

Now she sits with her things,

Out by the sill,

Peering like a hawk,

Quick and deftly, even,

Running her hands, moulding her work,

Shimmering in paint… or lead,

They are,

Unwavering attention she brings to the fore,

Vaults in joy, when finished to show!

Watching her work, I admire her more,

Xylophone playing as the background score,

Yet I can’t pinpoint exactly what works,

Zealously guarded, it is magic of course!
