Winter Approaches: ABC Poem.

by Harry

Poetry challenge: ABC Poem.

Another winter draws near

bitter biting winds approach

chilled hands and feet

deter us from going out

evenings growing colder

frost gathers on the windows

gritters out spreading salt

heating turned up a little

interests outside halt

jobs inside get done

kindle ready and waiting

logs are cut and stored

mufflers sorted for wearing

no-one outside playing

occasional people out walking

ponds start to freeze over

quail move indoors

robins appear in the garden

snow is in the air

tree for dressing ready

unearthly quietness outside

vagrants die at this time

wandering the streets alone

xmas ever nearer

yuletide greetings ready

zips tight against the chill

  1. You are really good at these Harry! I must make a few quiet moments for myself to have a go now that the mayhem here is over! πŸ™‚
