Moonlit Meanders

by Wendy L. Macdonald

Moonlit Meanders

So many moonlit walks we’ve shared

meandering along this tide

strewn with ocean birthed logs

huddled together side by side

Like us they’ve weathered storms

and traveled through unexpected gales

that have worn roughness til smooth

if only words could tell their tales

Long after our walks no longer live

other lovers will pass this way

 perhaps they also will contemplate

and embrace each moment as their last day.
