Another Memory

by graypoet

Is it just another memory that is made
When a life ends for a dear friend
Family all gathered to share voices
In a song, before the breaths end.

Years remembered with each generation
A woman always giving of herself
So much that all remember a life
By the photos framed on a shelf.

Even with the pain of a life ending
The good times remain so alive
To live a life so well spent
Is something for all to strive.

Family and friends will gather
Once more to recount these hours
There will always be more to each
Than a space to place fresh flowers.

Family and friends will remember Katherine.

  1. This is very touching, GreyPoet. Surely, Katherine was blessed to have a friend like you.

Your poem is like a seedling, reaching up through a mound of grief, warming yourself in the sunlight of her memory.

    Peace be with you. Beth

  2. Lovely tribute to Katherine–thank you for sharing it with us. My prayers to her family, you, and all her good friends. God bless.
