Memories Of Our Love

by wordypenguin

I never took you for a runner
One to leave it all behind
I never took you for a coward
One to ferry all the memories of our lives

I had put my name down
As you pointed the finger at me
I would never come down
If it were all up to me

Can I turn the lights on?
So that your heart can be seen
I’m turning on my own thoughts
You’re tearing us apart from the seams

But now you’ve got to watch out
They’re coming up behind you
They’re turning all the lights out
They’re starting to consume you

They’re taking hold of everything
I ever hoped and dreamed of
But they’ll never take me
As I get lost inside the memories of our love
