Keeping Soul

by willowmarie

Liberty

A young girl says,

“Yes…I can live with this, I will.”

A wise woman says,

“No…I can’t live without this, I won’t.”

It’s a turning point-

Sharpened by experience &

Warmed by a longing

She knows as instinct.

There was a time for compromise-

But there is no time left for that.

And if you asked her,

She wouldn’t know

If she found her soul

Or it found her.

What she does know is-

She’s lived it into being hers-

By choice & by voice for keeping.
