Between the Lines

by Rana

Reflected in

crumpled,

cherished pages

I see

names

not yours

or mine,

creatures

not of us,

worlds

beyond you,

feats we would

scoff at

or cringe from…

yet

there you are,

love reaching

and passion

thriving,

roaming adventures

we will never

take,

never could,

never will…

but still gone

wild

and free

across the valleys

of

my mind,

we happy two

journeying

on and

on

to lands

unfurling

and treasures

waiting.
