care – poem

by billgncs

I day-dreamt today
desk to elbow supported palm cradling bearded chin
miles away, envisioning just you.
Perhaps I imagined a wisp of your scent

or closed my eyes to your murmuring lips
then started to reality – involuntarily smiling.
I didn’t mention it however,
because in love
who cares most loses.

  1. Lovely, your an old softy 🙂

  2. I liked all but the last line, and that’s only because I’m a hopeless romantic. My concern with the line is that while it may very well be true, if both play that game, both could lose out on a very good thing.

    • yes, I wish that my daughters would just let me arrange their marriages 🙂

But you do see unequally caring romances result in one crushed as they dissolve.

  3. Aww this is lovely. I can visualise the scene very clearly. That involuntary smile that could begin to give away what is ment to be a private moment 🙂
