scrub. rinse. repeat.

by suicidallyanonymous

She’s going to break you,
she’s going to break you,
she’s going to break you.

It’s just that chunk
of bitter repetition
stuttered
in symphony,
in harmony,
in melody,
with your strep throat
and cold shoulder.

What with the chilled hearts
and baked eyelids,
and disgusted parents
shaking hypocritical fingers
at the dirty bits

[you snuck through
screendoors,
and backdoors,
and frontdoors,
just as they did
once upon a time]

of teenage love-puppies
and radio porn.

Oh, to be in love
with the fantasies,
with the history,
with heavy-lidded nightmares;

bite the dust
and shake off the past
because

she’s not coming back.
