Maiden fair
Bearing the burden of two
As one,
A delicate angel
Neither fallen or sainted,
Wending her way
Through a concrete jungle,
Gives little heart
All that is hers
And perhaps a bit more
Poems, poets, poetry, writing, poetry challenges

Very Good! I like how it seems to mesh the past and present with words like “maiden” and “wending” and then the modern “concrete jungle”. I get a vision of a pregnant woman making her way through the harsh city but still being this fair maiden that floats through like an angel.
I got an image of a Mother Theresa, full of intelligence that’s balanced with compassionate understanding ~lovely !
