Slavish Love

by maiasong

I always loved fixing things

you carelessly drop

or fling in blind rage

into my dark corner

like your broken mirror

reflecting only yourself

in fragments

sharp and jagged

slicing into my quivering heart

slowing draining

silver molten solder

to piece you together

again and again

so you can see yourself hurting

while I am busy creating something

from nothing

  1. Powerful. I especially like the last 5 lines. They haunt and echo after the reader is done. Bravo!
