~ Invoking Dawn ~

by A. L. O'Prunty

Oh Dawn whose rosy cheek is showing;

A brush of blush in eastern sky

Rouses the hope of sunlight

As Boreas clouds are rushing by

A hint of promise lingering

Awakes the feathered choir

Scaling the sky seeking warmth

Flying, higher, higher, higher

But I’m an earthbound mortal

Yet, I too seek your grace

And the brilliance of your smile;

Those sunbeams dancing off my face

Oh Dawn whose rosy cheek is showing;

A brush of blush in eastern sky

Burst the shroud of cloud looming

Be bold instead of shy!
