As I write about life
I stumble upon many mistakes
From choosing a shoe to a wife
Bloopers every man makes
We are said to learn
From our error
But it is hard to discern
Running away from life’s horror
An irony of this world
Mistakes become acceptable
In retrospect, at what life hurled
Until it becomes a fable
The lessons we usually take
From what others have borne
From knowing their mistake
But not our own
Mistakes attract attention
Even entertain
At life’s every situation
Even memories you retain
Every mistake, no doubt
Presents an opportunity
To seek a way out
From life’s likely adversity
Though as a fool I repeat
What I did in past
When others find life mistreat
I find a lesson to last
