It Takes Two

by Venkat

Imagine food

You did not taste

A fantasy mood

For someone chaste

A soccer play

A single team

Sunny day

No sunbeam

A strong opinion

No interaction

On earth, an alien

Hollow love

Of one-sided nature

No stars above

Nothing to capture

It takes two

To make meaning

A lesson unless you do

Futile teaching

Tendency to assume

From one’s own thought

Man cannot presume

The truth he sought

A simple law of reality

Need for two objects

To understand, get clarity

A relationship that connects

A little hard on oneself

Not daring to give

To keep to yourself

A wrong way to live
