A Flash from the Past

by Kerrie Ann Salsac

Sitting at a table for two

in the corner with a good view.

Watching the time, waiting alone.

Wondering how she will know him;

a man with dark hair and quite slim.

She sits waiting for the unknown.

Sipping red wine, watching the door,

not sure of this date anymore

she sighs and suppresses a groan.

In walks a familiar face,

he walks towards her with such grace.

As he draws closer, Could it be?

Years ago, a friend wanting more,

but with youth, too scared to explore.

Looking upon him now with glee,

sends her heart pounding hard and fast.

Something presumed lost to the past

given hope and a chance to be.

Want More?
