Some days

by forgingpaths

Sitting here on the back porch,
Waiting for you to come home.
Got a card yesterday
Be amazed how the kids have grown.

The sun set tonight’s real pretty,
The guitar is down to play,
I’ll sing a few of the old songs,
It’s the only way I’ll pray.

Chorus:
Some days life is living
Just this moment in time.
Sometimes looking to tomorrow-
Sometimes looking behind.

I hope you like the flowers,
I planted pink and red.
I know you like daisies,
But I got mums instead

Rebecca sends her love, dear
I know that she means well.
That woman can’t keep her mouth shut,
You know she can’t not tell.

Chorus

And I wanted to tell you,
How much I miss your face.
And how very proud I am,
You finally achieved your grace

I am glad I have today,
But I know when comes my turn-
I will be OK like you,
Each memory I have earned.

chorus

At times I forget
your not just at the store-
Then it hurts a whole lot,
And then a whole lot more.

Sitting here on the back porch
Your never coming home
I am old and you are gone
And here I sit alone.

Chorus
Some days life is living
just this moment in time.
Sometimes looking to tomorrow-
Sometimes looking behind.
