Apples

by forgingpaths
By forgingpaths

i can still hear the crickets chirping and frogs throaty rumbles,

but something in the cool stillness of the air tonight

gives weight to the anticipation of tomorrow-

summer is slowly slipping to a close.

Today we felt the warmth of the sun

while collecting apples at the orchard.

We laughed and sang loudly as we stuffed fruit into our baskets.

Soon those trees will lose their leaves and be covered with snow.

i am glad that today was sunny and filled with happiness.

Tomorrow you go back to the doctors.

i am hoping it won’t snow too much this winter.
