mosquito – poem

by billgncs

In which it is discovered a broken hand one day out of the splint is not quite healed.

when broken hand released
moves warily without the splint
refrain from excess movement
except those of kind intent

If a mosquito happens by
and alights upon your shoulder
embrace the passive stance
until the hand’s a few days older

for to strike a mighty blow
noble though the act may be
sees wary bug flit safely skyward
and puts the hurt on me.

  1. Haha…ouch! Some fun in this but I know how it feels to not be quite healed yet…will take that hand a little while to get back into the “swing” of things. Watch out mosquitoes!
