Peach

by forgingpaths

She stood upon the chair
Trying hard to reach
Taking greatest care
For the ripest, juicy peach.

She tumbled as she fell
She thought of all the cost
And oh she knew so well
Of all that she had lost.

Sometimes what we wish
Is just beyond our reach-
Sometimes it’s a lover,
Sometimes just a peach.

  1. I love this clever little rhyme
with all my heart and soul –
I’m reminded of a childish time
Wanting more from our fruit bowl

  2. I love a big juicy peach.
