Beacon Bright

by Wendy Strohm

Beacon there, beacon bright

Shining steadily through the night

Keeping the shoreline for the boat

Out at sea, boats out afloat.

Making sure of no bumps or knocks

No disasters on the craggy rocks

Beacon there, beacon bright

I keep you always in my sight

Keep me secure and on track

Stay on course, through each tack.

Making sure I am safe on my way

To see my journey through till day

Beacon there, beacon bright

You are indeed my guiding light

I watch for you and take good care

As I return, in time that’s fair.

Making sure I see each buoy

I turn homeward with a surge of joy

Beacon there, beacon bright

I trust in you and all is right.
