Where You Were Mine

by Tiffany Layne

Pumped my gas in the pouring rain,
Radio made me call your name,
Wish I was there in your arms,
Only place that was safe and warm.
Driving through this one light town,
Thoughts of you rolling through my mind.
Dreaming of the roads we’ve been down,
Another place in time-  you were mine.

Wishing, oh I’ve wished a time or two,
Just once I’d like to be with you again…
Maybe it would turn out just the same,
Maybe we could call ourselves friends
Going there just always breaks my heart.
Tell me why we had to fall apart?
I hear the rumble of this old car
I wanna drive right back into your arms.

Turn back the pages of time,
rest my head where you were mine.
I wanna go back and feel your love,
Find a way to never give up.
See you r face in the passenger seat,
In this old car right next to me,
Driving through this one light town,
Thoughts of you rolling through my mind,
Thinking of the roads we’ve been down.
Take me back to another place in time-

I wanna go back
where you
were mine.
