A boy stood on his balcony
Staring,remembering,and then melancholy
He remembered Miss Tahira,her beautiful tales
And then once again,he could hear the children’s wails.
He remembered his friends,so many were dead
He remembered their faces, covered in blood, bright red
They said he should be thankful he had survived
How lucky he was that he had not died
His mother wept tears of joy
His father bought him a new toy,
