He stares blankly into
his laptop, while his thoughts
rush to her. Makes him
feel warm, even in the
air-conditioned cabinet.
Her smile, her hair,
the nose-ring she wears,
her love, her flair,
he wishes she was here.
He kills time staring out
the window, hoping he’d
see her somewhere in the crowds.
He’s away, but he forgot to
carry his heart along.
He loved her, beyond reason
and righteousness. It
didn’t matter. Nothing did.
All he longed for was her.
This woman he loved, dressed
in ‘pink’.
With a smile that gave him a reason to carry on
and a heart that did not know
how not to love him.
